CIRCA: PRIOR TO LAST MID CENTURY; 1940s HEIGHT: 18 INCHES/45.72CM 5 PIECE STRUNG, HARD PLASTIC, CHILD-LIKE BODY THAT CAN HOLD A POSE. BOX, BUT IT'S IN POOR CONDITION This particular Maggie in her heavy, gabardine, mauve colored dress with lace hankerchief has always been my favorite. She reminds me of Mary with her blond curls (who played Little Bo Peep) in the 1934 movie Christmas classic, Babes in Toyland with Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. The highlights of this doll includes her super, shiny, blond Dynel wig in tight crimp curls and rolled bangs! She has a gold, embossed barrette on either side with velvet flowers. Maggie has a matte, suntan complexion with nice cheek color! She has huge, doe eyes with vibrant lower painted, corner eyelashes! She has thick, long, upper sable eyelashes with feathered eye brows. Maggies dress sports a square, pique collar. Her bodice is accented with tiny, pearl covered, buttons. Her pique, pointed cuffs are detailed with cuff links!
Her waistline is accented with a leatherette, brass buckle belt! Her whirly, pleated skirt is detailed with a pocket, where she keeps her original, embroidered, lace handkerchief! Her heavy, gabardine dress is pristine except for some minor patina near her cuff links. Tag in the rear reads, Maggie, Madame Alexander, New York, U.
Her muslin petticoat has attached panties with a square snap in the rear. Its embellished with wide, Swiss-dotted, scalloped trim! Her original, stiff, black cloth shoes are in excellent condition with gold cord and heels attached! Forgive flash glares showing as white spots on photos.
