1953 Madame Alexander Margaret Face. (From the 1953 "Glamour Girls Walking Dolls" Series). Minty Condition / Hat Box and "Cover Girl" Magazine Included. She is in minty condition in her original outfit, with her hair in its original set. She was the cover girl for the September 1995 issue of Doll Reader (magazine included).

Madame Alexander produced this Glamour Girl Edwardian in 1953 only. She was Model 2001A of their 1953 "Glamour Girls Walking Dolls" series, and she was described in their catalog that year as ready for a garden party. She is 17 tall and has the lovely Margaret face. The year walking dolls were introduced. The 1953 Alexander catalog described her as follows:'Black taffeta and lace with pink ostrich feathers fashion her becoming bonnet. Black lace gloves and a pink embossed cotton gown enhance her blond loveliness. Her hairdo consists of a series of rolled pincurls all around the head and framing the face.

Her wrist tag [not included here] stated that her hair could be washed, combed, and curled. Your doll has bright facial coloring and sleep eyes with eyelashes. Under her black taffeta bonnet, with its pink ostrich feathers, lace, and long velvet ties, her hair is still set just as it came from the factory.

She has her fingerless black lace gloves. Her (tagged) dress is stunning, with its embossed pink flowers and an accent row of tiny white pompoms. It snaps up in back with five small snaps. Underneath she is wearing her one-piece half-slip/bloomers ensemble with lace trim, full length nylon stockings, and center-snap black shoes.

The half-slip has a built-in wire hoop to fill out the skirt of her dress. It was not necessarily the pink one that they showed her with on the 1995 magazine cover... And it never included a hat. For example, if you search Google for theriaults glamour girl 1953... A wonderful and rare 1953 doll for your collection! Incredible minty vintage condition -- from a non-smoking environment. Perfect makeup, and no issues with the face or body, other than the usual hint of age whitening between the fingers (see photo). These Alexanders often develop a sour smell with age. Your doll has the faintest hint, but I notice it only if I hold her right up to my nose--I mean actually in contact with the plastic. Other than that, it's not noticeable so, in my opinion, you won't find it to be an issue.

The very faint odor is normal for these dolls. I find no stains, tears, or other issues with the dress. It is clean and nicely pressed.

The underwear has no stains or issues, and the nylons have no runs. She's rare, and you won't find one in better condition. I'LL BE GLAD TO ANSWER. Provided it's rated the same (or faster) than the service you chose.

If you live in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, or U. Message me to see whether there may be a cheaper alternative using Priority Post -- depending on the size and value of your parcel. And provided the items can travel safely in the same box.

(opens in a separate window/tab)... Where you'll find more top-quality antiques/collectibles/artwork/dolls/and more!

Significantly not as described: A. What was stated in the listing. As often happens, it's the few bad apples out there who ruin it for the rest of us. Not knowing what they're doing. And then, when they realize they've ruined the doll, they return it saying it was defective.

BUT HAVING SAID ALL THAT.. I do bend over backwards, attempting to disclose any noteworthy condition issues I can find or think of. But these are antique and vintage dolls -- so, please understand that they won't be in brand-new condition. There will always be some minor indication of their age, and it would be impossible to itemize every single pinhead-size stain on the outfit, or hairline scratch on the body. Please expect these types of conditions with old dolls.

IT CONTAINS VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION.
