MADAME ALEXANDER CLOTH DOLLS (Sold As a Pair) SUSIE Q & BOBBY Q Ca 1938

LARGE 15 INCH - - Ca: 1938. This doll is from a smoke free home and has no odors. 15" tall, "Susie Q" and Bobby Q" cloth character dolls made in 1938.

For price reference see page #15 & 16 in the book,'Doll Values' 13th Edition by Linda Edward; and page #207 in the 16th Blue Book Dolls & Values by Jan Foulke and page #164 in Jan Foulke's Guide to Dolls. They each have huge, painted blue, side-glancing (googly shaped) eyes glancing to each other.

White and blue felt and cotton outfits complete with matching felt shoes with spats. These sweet faced, early cloth dolls each have their original yarn hair, (Susie has black hair with scalloped bangs and long braids and Bobby has curly brown hair). They each have comical expressions, molded pug noses, long eyelashes and rosy cheeks. They also have molded flat feet to stand and mitt-shaped hands with separate thumbs.

And white polka dot printed dress with attached white petticoat. Bobby wears similar blue felt jacket over his red and white polka dot shorts with attached white cotton shirt, and red and white tie. Both wear their white felt spats with three button closures over their black felt shoes.

They are in very good condition. Actually they are in wonderful unplayed with condition - remember these were made in 1938 - almost 100 years ago!!!
