Madame Alexander-kins "Queen Elizabeth in Court Gown" 1955 #499 from the "Me and My Shadow Series". Her Majesty is an 8 inch, hard plastic, fully jointed, bend-knee walker with a vibrantly colored "Margaret" face and functioning rare blue sleep eyes. Her Tosca colored hair is in its original set and she wears a gold-tone metal flowered with jewel inset tiara along with a pearl necklace around her neck. She is dressed in a cream colored, tagged, tulle sleeved, low necked brocade gown, adorned with a jeweled, blue "Order of the Garter" sash and lined, scarlet velveteen robe which is tied around the neck with a gold braid. Underneath she has a matching cream colored lace trimmed taffeta full length half slip and panties.
She wears cream-colored fuzzy tie shoes (there is some of the fuzzy material missing due to aging on right shoe). She comes in near mint condition. She can be found on page 47 of Eleanor Schwingle Watson "Wee Friends" and page 113 of Patricia R. Smith's "Madame Alexanders Collector's Dolls".
She comes with the doll stand and is from a smoke-free home. The item "Vintage Madame Alexander-kins Queen Elizabeth 1955 #499 Me and My Shadow" is in sale since Sunday, March 8, 2020.
